Do you use LT on .doc(x) or just .txt

Hello

I’ve been meaning to ask this for a long time. Do other users use LT on doc(x) files?

When I load a doc(x) file, I get lots of strange characters that throw LT.

So I’ve got into the habit of making a txt copy and running that through LT.

Is that the right thing to do?

Also, can you make changes in LT and export it back to the file you are working on or do you have to locate the mistake indicated in LT in the actual document to alter it?

Thanks for any help and Happy New Year to everyone

Yes, that’s the right way.

Not sure if I understand the question - LT only works on plain text, it
knows nothing about file formats. Thus the only way to correct mistakes in
the document is to either use a plain text format or use
LibreOffice/OpenOffice, for which we have an add-on.

Using the LibreOffice/OpenOffice.org extension is probably the most convenient solution in this use case.
