Can't get n-grams to work with TeXstudio in Windows

(doc) #1

When starting the LT GUI n-grams work fine. And grammar checking with LT in general also works fine in TeXstudio. But n-grams don't work in TeXstudio.

I guess the problem is somewhere in the syntax. Forward/backslashes or something similar. However, I tried everything that I could think of. Help would be appreciated.

Might help:

You need to use --languageModel dir instead of --languageModel=dir. The same is true for --config. I'll add a warning to LT for these cases.

(doc) #3

I guess that this is wrong then:
This properties file needs to have a languageModel=… entry pointing to the ngram-index directory.
It tells you to use =

I changed the arguments to this:

org.languagetool.server.HTTPServer -p 8081 --config "C:\Users\me\.languagetool.cfg" --languageModel "C:\Program Files (x86)\TeXstudio\en"

It still does not work.

(Daniel Naber) #4

No, that refers to the properties file. You can specify languageModel both in the properties file (languageModel=...) or on the command line (--languageModel ...). It seems you defined it twice, but using ngramDir - it should probably be languageModel. Also, try removing enabledRules.en-US=... from the properties file.

When it still doesn't work I'm a bit clueless, and I cannot easily test on Windows.

(doc) #5

enabledRules.en-US=... was not the reason, "C:\Program Files (x86)\TeXstudio\en" was. The \en was too much.

Thanks!
