Corrections delete spaces

When accepting suggestions from LT to add commas, or fix spelling, it deletes the spaces between words, combining two words together and forcing me to put spaces manually.

When using LT to delete any extra spaces, it also deletes the closest word to it.

Please provide some examples (full sentences) so we can do some testing.

Where are you using LT? Webpage, add-ons?

I’m having this issue too. I am using the LT add-on in Google Docs. Here is an example.

Original: “This meets the third specific element of larceny as he had the intent to steal from the store, as opposed to accidentally forgetting to pay.”

Offered correction: Missing comma- Possible missing comma found, “larceny,”

Result: “This meets the third specific element oflarceny, as he had the intent to steal from the store, as opposed to accidentally forgetting to pay.”

Hi @thachere,

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We apologize for any inconvenience these issues may have caused.

We recently encountered an issue in our Chrome extension - particularly when using it on Google Docs. We’re happy to inform you that our team has released a fix in the latest version of the Chrome extension (8.18.11), which should resolve the reported problems. If you continue to experience the issue, we recommend reinstalling the extension to ensure the update is applied correctly.

Should you encounter any further issues or have additional feedback, please don’t hesitate to reach out!

Best regards,
Eline

I’m having the exact same problem in Google Docs, I already tried reinstalling the extension, but it didn’t fix the bug. I’m using version 8.14.3 for Firefox

Hi @Julia,

We’re currently experiencing some challenges with releasing this bug fix on Firefox, and possibly on Safari as well. Unfortunately, we’re unable to provide a timeline for when this issue will be resolved.

In the meantime, we recommend using the LanguageTool browser extension on a browser other than Firefox or Safari for the best experience.

We apologize for the inconvenience and will keep this thread updated as soon as a fix is available.

Thank you for your understanding!

Thanks for the update, this is what I’m waiting on in Firefox as I’ve recently noticed this too.

alot of us are using firefox to support the open source / ‘better’ community. similar to using languagetool over grammerly. this might not be the kind of advice folks want to hear.
