Detection problems if there are words in custom dictionaries

I have two custom dictionaries in LibreOffice Writer, in addition to the standard or default one. Words added to one of them aren’t recognized as valid, and LT flags them as errors.

I use LibO with the integrated LanguageTool:

Version: 24.8.7.2 (X86_64) / LibreOffice Community
Build ID: f4f281f562fb585d46b0af5755dfe1eb6adc047f
CPU threads: 8; OS: Linux 6.12; UI render: default; VCL: gtk3
Locale: es-MX (en_US.UTF-8); UI: es-ES
Calc: threaded Jumbo

Other times, for words it doesn’t recognize (that are added to a custom dictionary), it doesn’t offer the “Add to dictionary…” submenu either. I’ve attached an image to illustrate what I’m saying.

In some cases, the LT rules don’t align with the latest Spanish RAE Grammar, such as the fusion of two words, such as supra + word (e.g., supramental). It marks this as an error, and I can’t add it to any dictionary.

From all that saying,

  1. Where can I add or modify the rules? In the separate OXT extension, at least there’s a dialog box to enable or disable rules.
  2. How can I get those added words (to custom dictionaries) to be recognized by LT?

Hi. Thanks for your feedback. We have added the words you mention (vigílico vigílica, supramental) to the general LanguageTool Spanish dictionary. We are happy to add all new words that you could provide.

As for the LibreOffice dictionaries, LanguageTool doesn’t provide active support for these issues. The solution would require disabling the LanguageTool speller and relying on the LibreOffice speller (which is probably worse than the LT dict).

¡Gracias, Jaume!

Entonces, las nuevas palabras que vayan al diccionario en español, ¿las mando directamente contigo?

If a rule for the prefixes to be glued to the next word can be added… That will help the adding of new words to the dictionary!
