False positive for "Non-infinitive verb after modal verbs"

(jabdoa) #1

Hi,

we get false positives for the rule "Non-infinitive verb after modal verbs": We did experiments to verify it.

"experiments" is not a verb. Any way to fix that?

Thanks
Jan

Hi,

thanks for your feedback. It's not so easy to prevent this false alarm without also preventing valid errors. But I've added this special case ("did experiments") now as an exception so it will be fixed in the next release of LanguageTool.

BTW, the rule is this: http://community.languagetool.org/rule/show/DID_BASEFORM?subId=1&lang=en-US
