Firefox Browser Extension Not Working On Google Docs

Hi. I’ve been a huge fan of LanguageTool, using both the downloadable app and browser extension for Firefox. It’s worked fine with every webiste. However, in the last two weeks, the extension has been unresponsive on most of my Google Docs. I haven’t been able to identify a pattern, but clicking on the side toolbar will reveal a blank tab with the words
“Text is too short
Please enter at least 5 characters to start checking for issues”

These documents have paragraphs of text but are still within the 10,000 word limit the program has. It’s very annoying to be copy and pasting anything I write between the browser/app to check, and then copy and pasting it back and dealing with format issues. I love this app and I really need help.

To clarify, I’ve already tried uninstalling and reinstalling the browser, turning off malware and ad-blocker extensions, and clearing cookies.

Sorry about that. Could you share a link to one of the documents, so we can reproduce the issue?

Sure. Here’s a document where it keeps happening.

Thanks, I can reproduce the issue, and I’ll open a bug report for the developers. As a workaround, it seems to work if you reload the page in the browser.

I’ve tried doing that, but the extension remains fixed in the “text too short” mode.

Hi,

We are aware of this issue and are already working on a fix. During the next days, we’ll provide an update to our Firefox add-on.

Thanks for letting us know!

Kind regards,
Christopher

Hello,

I was wondering if an update has been issued to help Firefox users? I’ve been checking the Mozilla add-in store, but I haven’t seen anything, and my issue is still persisting.

Thank you.
