Unfortunately, LT recognizes every text as English, as we have an English sentence in our email signature. Is there any possibility to add a setting, that the signature is not being recognized for the language detection?
We are using Freshdesk and the Google Chrome Extension of LT.
Hi Julian, there’s no setting, but if you use -- (minus, minus, space) to separate the signature from the email body, LT should ignore the signature. If that doesn’t help, could you send a screenshot and also let us know what email client you use?
Attached you can find two screenshots, unfortunately the "-- " does not work, am I missing something here maybe?
We are using Freshdesk, a ticketing tool for Customer Support.
I think we have found the solution. The issue should be solved with the next updates in a few days or maybe next week. Thanks again for letting us know about the issue.
Unfortunately, there’s no built-in setting in LanguageTool to exclude the automated from language detection, especially when using the Chrome extension.
One workaround could be to wrap your signature in a specific HTML tag or comment that LT might ignore, though that really depends on how Freshdesk handles formatting. Another option is to manually select the language for each email to prevent the signature from affecting detection.
