Java API: German-specific problem with sample code?

Hello everyone,
I have just tried to get the sample Java code to work (http://www.languagetool.org/java-api/), but it fails when I choose the German language set. For English and Swedish, it works perfectly but switching to German yields no output at all (except for a hint concerning the apostrophe in “Hitchhiker’s Guide”, which is not common in German). No spelling mistakes are detected.

Anyone any idea why this is happening in German while it works in the other languages?

Help greatly appreciated,

Tim

Spell checking works only if you use a variant, e.g. “new
GermanyGerman()”, using “new German()” is not enough. If that doesn’t
help, could you post your code and the text input you use?

Daniel, thanks so much for your reply!

“new GermanyGerman()” indeed works, I haven’t though about variants there…

Best,
