LanguageTool Safari extension not working in Confluence

Hi,

LanguageTool is of great help to me. Recently I noticed, however, that the LanguageTool Safari extension doesn’t seem to work in my Confluence environment. I tested the same page (edit mode) in Firefox; the LanguageTool extension worked flawlessly in this browser.

Anything specific that I could do to make the LanguageTool extension for Safari work in Confluence? Thanks!

Thanks for your feedback. Could you describe the issue in more detail, e.g. doesn’t the LT icon appear at all? Maybe also attach a screenshot (even if there’s no LT visible).

Sure! Here are two browsers side by side; Safari to the left and Firefox to the right. Indeed, Safari doesn’t show the LT icon at all.

Thanks, I’ve opened a ticket for our developers.

Great. Do let me know if you need more evidence for reproduction

Hey, we weren’t able to reproduce this issue in the cloud version of Confluence. Are you using a self-hosted instance?

Hi @tiff, that is indeed the case. Also, I can confirm that LT indeed does work with Confluence Cloud (using the Safari configuration from the screenshot posted earlier).

Does that help?

Thanks for your prompt reply! Now we only need to get our hands on a self-hosted confluence instance to test and fix this …

Hi @tiff, if you can provide me with an updated version of the LT Safari extension incorporating the fix, I’m happy to help with testing. Let me know!
