LT stopped working on web.whatsapp.com can anyone confirm?

I am using the Chrome LT add-on.

Is it still working on that website for anyone else? I can’t quite remember when exactly it stopped working, but I am sure it was still working last year sometime.

Hi, we are unable to reproduce this issue. Do you have any other grammar checker Chrome extension installed which could interfere with LT?

Thanks for confirming it is working for you.

I have double and triple checked: no other grammar checker or similar installed on the two browsers I have tested in on (Chrome latest, under Win 11, two different devices).

It works just fine with other website on this very same browser. i.e. gmail.com and it works just fine replying to you right here as well.

I looked at the usual suspects like uMatrix and uBlock Origin but even disabling both didn’t change anything.

Not sure what else to check and since it’s working for you, it must be a problem on my end.

I don’t have any problems on web.whatsapp.com with version 8.14.3.

Thanks everyone. Basically it is clear now, this is a local problem related to my setup somehow.

  • The browser console didn’t yield any useful hints.
  • It seems I am using Version 8.17.0 of the LT Chrome extension
  • When I check the chrome store, the latest is Version 8.18.2 released yesterday
  • Updating didn’t help
  • Btw. on web.whatsapp.com it seems LT isn’t even loading as I don’t see the icon or the red dot showing the number of errors or indicating all is well.

I guess I’ll just have to live with no LT on WhatsApp Web until I figure out what is borked on my end :-/
