Rule: Simplify "quando" + "verb with SE" + "a"

Hello Ricardo,

Take a look at:

O termo é empregue quando se refere a esta organização radical.
O termo é empregue quando refere-se a esta organização radical.

I was thinking about a rule of the kind:

quando se refere a = ao referir a
quando refere-se a = ao referir a

It would make the text more fluid and easier to read.

Is it a good idea?

If so, can you think of a good ID, rule name and suggestion message for the rule?

Also, maybe “quando” can also use other words of the same kind?

I edited the post above:

quando se refere a = ao referir a
quando refere-se a = ao referir a

Please also have in mind if we can use “te, nos, me, vos, etc.”

Hi, the idea is great but in pt-BR “ao referir” without any pronoun sounds lacking something (the pronoun…).
Also, “quando refere-se” is not in accord with standard norm, should be “quando se refere” if the rule you created is not to be used if for some reason it doesn’t work.

What about:

quando se refere a = ao referir-se a

?
“referir” could be any verb.

It would make the sentence smaller with the same meaning.

Maybe a rulegroup for “quando”?

Look at this:

Quando a mensagem é verificada usando a Análise Bayesiana
Ao verificar a mensagem blah blah blah

I believe it is a good idea.

Hmm, not so sure. For me, “Quando a mensagem é verificada” there is no agent, now in “Ao verificar a mensagem”, it seems that I have checked the message, don’t you feel the same?
