Self-hosted and MacOS Mail, Slack and Safari

Hi,

I am planning to purchased LanguageTool premium. However, I do not want any data to be sent to any outside server due to the privacy policy of my organization. My main usage would be to get grammar corrections in Mail, Slack, Safari and Chrome. I understand that some of the AI premium features (such as rephrasing) will be unavailable with self-hosting. Is it possible to set up LanguageTool self-hosting such that I can use it in MacOS Mail, Slack, Safari and Chrome? I am OK paying for the premium membership.

Thanks,
Osho

For Safari and Chrome, you can use the browser add-on, which allows setting a server. For Mail, while supported by the Mac desktop app, you cannot set your own server.

My 80% of writing is with MacOS Mail and Slack. Is there a plan to support self-hosting for MacOS Mail and Slack (even if it is a premium-only feature)?

Thanks,
Osho

There’s a ticket for it in our internal tracker, but I cannot tell when/if this will be implemented.

OK, thanks Daniel for the update.

I would also be very happy about the self-hosted option for the local Mac app. Are there any updates on this?
