What does it mean to use LT on a server

Hello

Besides the fact that I can’t get LT to work as a server, I do wonder what this actually means in technically and in practise.

Are there any advantages as people seem to say it is slower.

Thanks in advance for any explanations

It means the LT features (checking a text and returning potential
errors) are available via HTTP. Thus other developers who don’t use Java
or who don’t want to install LT can send their text to that server. This
is also true for web forms that check text - the text needs to be sent
somewhere, namely to an LT server.

It’s not slower besides the network overhead.
