I apologize for opening a duplicate thread. However, since september, I have reported an issue regarding the situation, and it has still not been resolved.
The LanguageTool add-in for Word 2024 is not working. It detects spelling errors, but when I click to correct them, nothing happens.
The old version of the add-in worked, so it seems to be something related to the new update. In the issue I opened in September, one of the developers mentioned that it is possible to revert to the old version of the add-in by pressing the SHIFT + L + T keys. However, every time I open Word, I have to repeat the process because the latest version of the add-in starts with it.
I would like someone to help me set the old version as the default so that I don’t have to switch to it every time I start Word. Thank you!
Second that ! I would be very interested in a way to make the old interface of the Office add-in the default one.
It would still be a temporary workaround, but I’m guessing it won’t get any update soon since the new Windows app seems to be intended to replace it in the long run (kind of, since the Windows app currently doesn’t support pointing to a local server).
The Word add-in was very useful, specially for large texts. I am writing a book and the Windows Tool stops working after 10.000 or 20.000 characters.
The Word add-in is useful because you can select an entire chapter and check inside from MS Word.
With the windows tool, I can do that too, but I need to select the text, hit Ctrl+Q and the text will be copied to the LanguageTool program… I need to correct the text and copy/past back to Word. This is not very productive, and also, eventually, I need to reformat the text again.
