I’m using Languagetool in Office 2024 and it doesn’t make any changes to the text. It detects the improvements, however, when I press accept, the document doesn’t undergo any changes:
I believe this has to do with the update to the app’s look. The old version works without any problems for me!
Sorry for the issues. Could you please send us more information about the version of Word and the operating system you use? Also, do you see the red underlines in your text?
Of course!
I’m using Windows 11 version 24H2. Office is version 2024 (v2408 - build 17928.20114). The only underlines in the text are the red and blue ones that come from Word’s own proofreading function.
Hi ! I’m facing the exact same problem : the extension detects errors but does not correct it when the Accept button is pressed. And there is no way to roll back to a previous version of a Word add-in…
I’m using Word 2019, and the current LT add-in version is 1.0.1.0.
There is an other post on this forum about this issue : LanguageTool in Word does not work at all @dnaber do you have any inputs ?
Thank you for reaching out, and apologies for the inconvenience.
The “new” Word-Add-in was developed based on the Office 365 subscription-based version.
Theoretically, it should work for all other versions as well, but as per our communications with Microsoft there appears a bug, and we hope for it to be resolved as soon as possible on their end.
Users affected by issues can open Word, initiate the Word-Add-in, click on the Sidebar (so the cursor is not in the text field of Word) and then press the shortcut “SHIFT + L +T” to initiate the old Word-Add-in.
